Windmill School Chinese Restaurant Preparing to Open

Over two days in February, Windmill School year 5 children will be opening their very own Chinese restaurant in an effort to raise funds

The aim of the restaurant is for the children to raise enough money to pay for a visit from the amazing author, Marcus Alexander, to support their learning next term.

Year 5 teacher Kerrie Miller tells us more:

“As part of our learning in Year 5 this term, the children have been learning about the ‘Shang Dynasty’. We are coming to the end the theme, which means that they will be hosting their Chinese restaurant. The children have designed delicious oriental cuisine and will be learning about preparation and cooking techniques.”

The children will be hosting the restaurants on two different afternoons:

Monday 11th February 2019 2pm-3pm Coggins Class

Tuesday 12th February 2019 2pm-3pm Gravestock Class

“They will be asking for donations on a ‘pay what you think it’s worth’ system at the end of the meal and all donations will be anonymous;

Please bring some cash with you! Last time we ran a similar event, we raised over £300 in one afternoon so the challenge is on!

You are able to bring as many guests as you would like – the more the merrier!

It would be amazing to get the community involved.”
