Raunds Car Wash Raises £520 for Charity

A combined charity car wash in Raunds raised £520 which is to be shared between Windmill Primary School and The Firefighters Charity

The car wash was held for just 3 hours on Saturday 9th June at Raunds Fire Station using the fire stations hoses for a pre-wash and rinse as well as lots of buckets of bubbly soapy water to clean the cars in between and finally dried off in the fire station itself.

The crew of car washers included members of the fire and police service as well as teachers, students, parents and friends of Windmill Primary School in Raunds.

Mary O’Brien had her car wash and asks: “Can you do it every 6 weeks? Best car wash I have had done in years. Thank you all very much.”

Raunds Town Mayor, Cllr Richard Levell and the Mayoress, Magdalena Levell brought their car in for a clean. Cllr Nick Beck also brought his car down for a wash as well as then providing the team with a supply of food and getting stuck in with the fun himself.

Mr Bateson seemed to want to challenge the pre-event images with a choice of clothes which seemed to bring tears to Mr Colemans eyes [photos below].
