Small and medium-sized businesses in Northamptonshire – looking to invest in digital technology to help their expansion – can apply for the latest round of grant allocations of up to £5,000.
Delivered by Northamptonshire County Council in partnership with Northamptonshire Growth Hub, the funding for the Digital Improvement Grants project has been made available from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Applicants must commit to at least match this funding to support innovative and enterprising digital activities that will stimulate business growth and job creation.
The sort of projects that would be suitable for funding include:
- Achieving efficiencies by using cloud systems
- Enhancing online presence
- Accessing new markets through e-commerce
- Remote working and mobile solutions
- Applications will be jointly assessed by the county council and Northamptonshire Growth Hub.
The closing date for this round of applications is Friday, 15 December at midday. Since the launch of the scheme in August there have been two rounds of applications with a total of nine projects being approved.
Cllr Andre Gonzalez De Savage, county council cabinet member for Public Protection, Strategic Planning and Infrastructure, said:
“This funding can make a very big difference to these companies who are looking to expand.
“Eligibility for the grant also relies on the funding bringing benefits for the wider Northamptonshire economy, which means the benefits are widespread.”
The grant investment in local businesses through the Digital Improvement Grants must have a beneficial impact on the Northamptonshire economy.
Initial enquiries should be directed to Northamptonshire Growth Hub on 01604 212696.
The Digital Improvement Grants scheme builds on the success of INV-ENT Digital which was backed by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills SME Digital Capabilities Fund in 2015.
