Council Meeting for 460 new ‘Dwellings’ Meeting

BuildingThe application for up to 460 dwellings (EN/07/02238/OUT) for the development at Darsdale Farm and Rushmere, Chelveston Road appears to be moving forward on the Councils Agenda.

The application will be reported to the committee at its next meeting on Thursday 27 Feb at 7pm (doors open 6:30pm).  This will be held at Council Chamber at East Northamptonshire House, Thrapston.

The meeting is open the public and you’re all welcome to attend but there is a limit of only 50 members of the public who can fit into the room.

How many of you would want to attend and have a say? – Surely more than 50 people?

Considering that the current schools and gp’s are full to bursting what is the extra provision planned?? It already takes weeks to get a routine apt at the drs and class sizes are large now and I can’t see How the current schools will be able to expand, surely these areas need looking at before more houses are even considered.

It’ll be too late when the powers that be realise that not only Raunds is being over developed but the whole country is. The country is at saturation point as it is. We are over populated and over developed. I’m in the construction industry and had to move away from being employed by large companies undertaking large developments. It brought into question my moral standing in this matter, so I now work for myself undertaking small local work for property owners.

That’s about 14,00 extra people – it will certainly push the Schools and no doubt the Doctors. They give us a lone Bank open 3 days a week? Give us a lone so- called automated paying toilet, having taken away a very good expensive Toilet Block, twin to the existing well worthwhile Thrapston Toilet Block – wrecking the old larger Raunds Market in the process. What is the use of controlling Councils??? Do they actually live in Raunds???

This is only the first phase if anticipated 1200 houses on darsdale farm. Any idea how we will get in and out if Raunds if each dwelling has two cars? 2400 cars moving out in the morning over Red Lion roundabout? Hmmmm!
